Nabin Nanda is political leader of Odisha. He was born to a lower middle class bramhin family in the year 1959. He started his political career as Sarpanch of his home Gram Panchayat Deogan and now he is well known as a political stalwart of Dhenkanal District as well as the state. He fought 4 assembly elections and won two times to state assembly as MLA from Gondia and Dhenkanal. As a ground level leader, he is always easily available to his people at his village residence. And even anyone can call him in his mobile number and he will answer the call definitely. He has good experience of agriculture, food processing and co-operative activities. He is preferred by the youth community of his area because of his tech-savvy attitude. He manages is Facebook profile by his own unlike other leaders who deploys agencies to do so. During Phailin Cyclonic Storm in 2013, he himself replied the Cyclone affected people’s situations to their relative staying away through Facebook whole night. During his tenure as MLA, Dhenkanal and MLA, Gondia, he has raised many issues of Dhenkanal Assembly Constituency to State Government like Widening of Dhenkanal to Bhapur Road, Establishment of Cold storage demand to NTPC Gajamara at Sankarpur area, Dhenkanal to Cuttack local bus facility, 100 bedded medical at Dhenkanal town, Cremation Center at Sriramchandrapur CHC, 33/11KV Grid at Tolarposi Chaak, Pingua, Establishment of Fire station at Sarakapatana of Chhadesh area of Dhenkanal Sadar Block, Construction of Bisnupur Adibandha at Bhapur Grampanchayat, Baji Rout Setu (Bridge) over river Bramhani at Mandar, Second Byepass road from Shyamacharanpur to Bhagabanpur etc. Some of these works are also completed in his tenure as MLA. Apart from his public-centric activities, he lost his BJD ticket two times to Sri Saroj Kumar Samal, a rich and very big mining contractor.
